STUDIO/

PATH is many things: architecture, interiors, design, furniture, prototyping and fabrication. Our modes of working explore the potential overlap between digital and analog -hand and machine craft. The process is open and collaborative, always moving between designing and making. Curiosity and experimentation drive much of our work, yet experience and know-how keep it true. We think about projects as they exist in a broad context at the same time we’re concerned with the most intrinsic details. The resulting aesthetic sensibilities are expressive of material and process, yet reductive in means.

PATH is a design and making studio directed by architect Matt Hutchinson and located in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Matt holds a Master of Architecture Degree with Honors from Yale University and a Bachelor of Architecture with Honors from Kent State University. He has lived and worked in the Midwest, the East Coast and the West Coast and his work has been recognized by peers - published and exhibited nationally and locally. Matt has been a fellow at various residencies, invited as a visiting critic, conducted workshops and lectured for institutions across the country and internationally.
